Pet Dental Hygiene

Pets have dental diseases and teeth problems just like we do. Often, diseases of the teeth and gums go unnoticed and can have serious consequences. Many of these problems can be avoided by bringing your pet to us for regular veterinary dental check-ups and cleanings.

Annual veterinary dental care and home dental care will help keep your pet's breath, gums, and teeth clean and healthy.

You can prevent serious animal dental problems from occuring by making sure your pet receives dental exams at the time of each puppy visit, again at six months of age, and then annually.

Signs of dental problems in your pet:

  • Persistent bad breath – one of the first signs of dental disease
  • Tartar or plaque buildup (ask your veterinarian how to identify these)
  • A yellowish-brown crust of plaque on the teeth near the gum line
  • Red and swollen gums
  • Pain or bleeding when your pet eats or when the mouth or gums are touched
  • Pawing at the mouth
  • Decreased appetite or difficulty eating
  • Loose or missing teeth
Whether your pet is in need of simple dental care or has more serious oral problems, we can provide custom dental care. Please call us, and we can schedule your pet's cleaning today! (816) 356-2424
